New Westminster's annual Antique Car Parade is on Easter Sunday, April 4th.
If the weather is good they draw 150 to 200 cars. They assemble on the New Westminster Parkade, then travel east along Columbia, do a U-turn at 4th St. then head west, turn north up 12th St to 6th Ave, turn east to 2nd St, turn south, east on 3rd Ave and into Queen's Park.
We can use about 15 operators, for assembly, dispersal, various Hyack officials and parade directors, BCAA, Police and to man various points along the parade route.
Operators are required at 11:30. The parade rolls at 12:00 noon, and is done by 13:00.
As always, new hams are very welcome. No experience is necessary, we can certainly buddy up any brand new hams with an experienced operator. All that is required is a handheld, (preferably UHF and hopefully a spare battery!)
More info on the events can be found on the Hyack website at www.hyack.bc.ca
